In retrospect Ichigo was able to tap into both powers in Shikai, so once it’s mastered he will have that form on a higher level in only merged Shikai. Ichigo, was considered so formidable in his true Bankai that Yhwach did not want to face it.
Does Ichigo win the fight with the hollow?
