2.1 Participation in an IMO is by invitation only. Each invited country (or territory in some exceptional cases approved by the IMO Board) is entitled to send a team consisting of up to six contestants (the “Contestants”), a Leader, and a Deputy Leader, to be known collectively as the participants (the “Participants”).

Is Imo 2021 online?

IMO 2021 is a purely virtual event because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and regulations relating to events for Participants and Observers physically taking place in the Host Country do not apply. Online activities will replace the excursions and/or cultural trips referred to in paragraph 3.5 of the General Regulations.

SOF will register the applicant school and the students. As per the Students’ Registration Sheet (SRS) received from the School, SOF will generate roll numbers for all students. SOF IMO is conducted on three dates for Level 1. Each school may select a date for conducting the SOF IMO as per its convenience.

Who pays for the international travel of IMO teams?

The organization hosting an IMO will pay for all relevant local expenses (i.e. accommodation, food and local travel). However, participating teams must pay for their international travel until they arrive at a designated IMO point of entry and departure. For example, in 2014, teams had to pay for travel to and from Cape Town.

How to become a sof IMO level 1 examination centre?

Principals/teachers may please note that any school can be registered as a center for SOF IMO Level 1. No fee is required from the institution to become a registered examination centre. Prospectus containing the Registration forms are sent to all schools registered with SOF.
