Is it easier to ride a skateboard or a penny board?
A Penny Board is an option for someone smaller that wants to learn how to ride a skateboard, but not learn advanced tricks. Keep in mind that it’s a lot harder to learn skateboarding on a small Penny board compared to a popsicle skateboard.
Is it easier to ride a penny board or nickel board?
A Nickel board traditionally refers to a larger Penny-style board that is around 5″ longer, and easier to ride because of the increased deck surface area. Nickel boards are still made of plastic, and are light-weight and inexpensive, but can cost $20-$30 more than penny boards.
What type of board should I get?
If you wear shoes 9.5 or larger, we recommend getting a deck between 8.0 and 8.5 inches. In general, skaters who like flip tricks, manuals, ledges, flat bars and technical tricks usually prefer boards on the narrower side of the spectrum (7.75 – 8.25 inches).
Are penny boards easy to learn?

Should I buy a complete skateboard or just the parts?
If you don’t want to put together your own skateboard setup, but want to get skating right away, we recommend that you buy a complete skateboard. The complete boards in the skatedeluxe skate shop are high quality, already pre-assembled and therefore ready for skating.
What size skateboard do I need for cruising?
Using a regular skateboard is cheaper than buying a longboard or cruiser. Decks starting from 8.25″ or wider are fine for cruising, Get a pair of Venture, Paris, or Independent trucks and some softer wheels. Make sure the trucks match the width of your board and get some proper wheels and bearings.
Do I need to put together my own skateboard setup?
The components of your skateboard have to fit together. For example, not all skateboard trucks fit on every deck. If you don’t want to put together your own skateboard setup, but want to get skating right away, we recommend that you buy a complete skateboard.
Can you learn skateboarding on a pennyboard?
Sure there are people that learn skateboarding on a Pennyboard but it will take you a lot longer if you decide to get a board like this. They look great and last forever (except for the wheels and bearings) but are very uncomfortable.
