What happens in orientation-cum-selection-camp?
The top-scoring students from Indian National Olympiad Examination are invited for the Orientation-Cum-Selection-Camp (OCSC). Students are trained in basic notions in astrophysics, astronomical data analysis, and night sky observations in astronomy. The number of students for each subject is fixed.
How do you get selected for ipho?
Students must satisfy appropriate eligibility criteria in NSEP. They must score more than 50\% of the average of the top ten scores. This is the Minimum Admissible Score (MAS in short). If they score more than 80\% of the above-mentioned average, they’re selected for INPhO.

How many students are selected for IChO?
About 35 students are selected from the written examination. A total of 30 students are selected from these to attend the Orientation-Cum-Selection-Camp (OCSC), chemistry, held at HBCSE, Mumbai. Most of the students qualifying the INChO are those completing their twelfth standard.

The physics Olympiad program follows the following 5 stages:
- Stage I : National Standard Examination in Physics (NSEP)
- Stage II : Indian National Physics Olympiad (INPhO)

How do I participate in International Chemistry Olympiad?
Countries who wish to participate in the IChO must send observers to two consecutive olympiads before their students can participate in the event. A total of 68 countries took part in the 38th IChO in 2006: 67 as participants and 1 as an observer. In 2017 more than 80 countries are expected to send students.
How can I participate in IChO from India?
The eligibility criterion for the IChO is given below:
- Must be an Indian citizen.
- Date of birth between 1 July 1998 and 30 June 2003, both days inclusive.
- Must not have completed (or scheduled to complete) class 12 board examination earlier than 30 November 2017.
How many questions are asked in ipho?
The theoretical examination lasts 5 hours and consists of three questions. Usually these questions involve more than one part. The practical examination may consist of one laboratory examination of five hours, or two, which together take up the full five hours.
