Why is it called Torah?
The word “Torah” in Hebrew is derived from the root ירה, which in the hif’il conjugation means ‘to guide’ or ‘to teach’ (cf. Lev 10:11). The meaning of the word is therefore “teaching”, “doctrine”, or “instruction”; the commonly accepted “law” gives a wrong impression.
Why believers in Jesus should keep the Torah?

What does Torah say about Jesus Christ?

What is the difference between the Torah and the Tanakh?
Tanakh is an acronym for Torah, Nevi’im, and Kethuvim. Hebrew doesn’t really have vowels; at least not the way English does, so when writing Tanakh in Hebrew, the word only has 3 letters–the first letters of Torah, Nevi’im, and Kethuvim: תנ״ך (the ״ simply signifies that the word is an acronym, and is not a letter).

The Torah is Judaism’s most important text. It is composed of the Five Books of Moses and also contains the 613 commandments (mitzvot) and the Ten Commandments. These five books of Moses also comprise the first five chapters of the Christian Bible.
