What do you do with hardened Bournvita?
Preparation:
- Heat water and pour over solidified bournvita.
- Heat the heavy bottom vessel and add butter and allow to melt.
- When it turns into ghee or burnt butter add APF(all purpose flour) and roast it well to remove the raw smell.
- Add the chocolate syrup and brown sugar and mix well to form a soft dough.
How do you save Bournvita from hardening?
Add boiling hot water to it. Leave for an hour or 2. Once Bournvita starts dissolving, stir it with a long spoon thoroughly and keep it in a refrigerator. From next day you will be able to extract it out in syrupy form and use it just like a chocolate paste.
How do you break hardened Horlicks?
Once when the Horlicks is formed as solid, the solid must be ‘broken down into powder form’. This can be done either by beating and breaking into powder pieces or by dissolving it in the hot mixture of water.

So,here is a video that shows how I solved the problem my way i.e. what “I” did to soften a Horlicks(same can be used to soften Bournvita/coffee powder/even milk powder likewise ) gone hard and make it drinkable again . By the way,the main reason they become hard is because of moisture .

One thing I did do that not on the instructions is I used hot water instead of milk. So I basically made a hot chocolate drink. It is good. Give it a try, also mixed it into my serving or two of ice cream.

- Take packages in small SKUs.
- Keep these in air tight containers.
- Don’t keep open for long as higher humidity can lead to lumps/solidification .(environmental condition)

Bournvita was discontinued in the UK market in 2008. The drink was named by Cadbury which was derived from Bournville, the model village which is the site of the Cadbury factory (Bourn + Vita). It was first sold in India in 1948, the same year Cadbury India was established.
