Is Tissot a good brand?
Tissot is a genuine Swiss brand with a storied reputation. They also do a great job of offering tremendous pieces at a variety of price points. As a result, Tissot is one of the few brands that you’ll find in the collections of both budget-minded collectors and luxury connoisseurs.
How long do Tissot automatic watches last?
The movement is not designed to be easily adjusted or serviced, (although it can be) It is put into low cost watches under $1,000 that will likely be discarded when they start having problems, rather than being overhauled. (5 to 10 years depending on how often and how they are worn.)
What is the difference between Tissot and Seiko watches?
Tissot is a Swiss watch brand which makes luxury watches, while Seiko is a Japanese which makes fashionable, efficient and durable watches. But, a Tissot watch has higher quality than Seiko.
Are Seiko watches worth the money?
Seiko watches are great specimens of technology and built. They are literal powerhouses that are known to run on ultra-efficient Quartz mechanisms. But the thing is Tissot beats Seiko when it comes to value for money. Seiko watches are expensive despite them using Quartz movements.
Should I buy a Tissot or a Swiss watch?
As an investment neither watches will really appreciate in value at the sub-$1,000 range. My bottom line recommendation is for the Tissot for the heritage and the fact its a swiss movement, but remember at (what I’m assuming) the sub-$1,000 range, it’s really up to you.
Is it possible to flip watches and make big money?
Yes you can “flip” watches and make big money but I don’t think Seiko and Tissot are brands for that unless you happen across NOS watches. If you want to invest money to watches, then open a trade account to securities market and buy Epson (owns Seiko) or Swatch (owns Tissot) or both.
