How can I increase my IDM?

To increase your speed:

1. Try to close other applications which may download at the same time.
2. Try to download from a mirror site.
3. Check your IDM connection settings: 3.1.
4. Try to schedule downloads and download at a night time.
5. Don’t forget to check with your ISP your bandwidth limits and download speeds.

How does IDM make download faster?

1. By increasing the number of connections to the server, IDM consumes all or maximum of your bandwidth and increases the proportion of your total internet bandwidth that goes to the download.
2. The remote server divides it’s total bandwidth to the number of connections to it.

Do I need VPN for IDM?

If you are using our Browser extension and IDM, then your connection does not go through a VPN for connections made from outside of the browser. Since IDM is running outside of the browser you cannot use IDM along with browsers VPN connection. Our software can only run with our own extension. Not with other protocols.
