MCIT Online welcomes applicants from all backgrounds. Admittance to MCIT Online is competitive. However, no background in computer science is required, the only qualification to apply is a bachelor’s degree in any field.
Is MCIT a CS degree?
The MCIT is not a master of science degree, but it covers comparable material. Our curriculum begins with a strong CS foundation and goes on to graduate-level electives that are exactly the same as those taken by students in traditional CS master’s programs.
What makes you interested in the MCIT online program?
Although you don’t need a technical background to be eligible for MCIT Online, you do need to demonstrate strong quantitative abilities or mathematical skills. If you didn’t, we recommend taking a math class or taking the GRE or GMAT.

Can I start my MCIT program in the spring semester?
No. The first year MCIT curriculum is designed to be a continuous one year program, with classes taught in the spring building upon material taught in the fall. Due to this sequence of course offerings, candidates cannot start in the spring semester. How likely am I to succeed in this new field?
