What does it mean when an exam is 20\% of your grade?
When an exam is 20\% of your grade, that does not mean “20\%” (in terms of points for a class) is magically subtracted away from your grade. If you had a 15 in the class but a 0 on the exam, you wouldn’t get a -5 for a final grade – it would be 80\% of 15.
