Why is Z so rarely used?
Why did Z get removed from the alphabet? Around 300 BC, the Roman Censor Appius Claudius Caecus removed Z from the alphabet. His justification was that Z had become archaic: the pronunciation of /z/ had become /r/ by a process called rhotacism, rendering the letter Z useless.

Why does the Chinese language not have an alphabet?
The Chinese group of languages do not use alphabets. An alphabet must have consonants and vowels in order to make up words, where as Chinese script consists of logosyllabic characters known as glyphs to denote different sounds, words and even phrases.
