Why did Hector want Gus dead?
Gus was already a successful business man with a legitimate business which would be useful to Don Eladio and the cartel. They wanted to use his distribution network. Killing him would be a mistake given how high-profile he was, albeit he wasn’t as high profile than he was in later years.
What happened between Gus and Hector?
Gus was the business arm of the operation. They provided cartel members with meth through Gus’ restaurants as a way of making a business proposal Don Eladio. Eladio summoned them to his estate and sweated them for a while, then Hector, a high ranking enforcer, unexpectedly shot Max in the head.
Why did Hector not kill Gus?
As punishment, Eladio ordered Hector Salamanca to kill Max on the patio of his mansion while Juan Bolsa restrained Gus. Eladio told him the only reason he wasn’t killed alongside Max is because he was aware of his mysterious past in Chile (“Hermanos”).
What is wrong with Hector in breaking bad?
In the character’s original run on Breaking Bad, Hector is said to have had a stroke that leads to his wheelchair-bound existence. Showrunner Vince Gilligan has said that “ Better Call Saul begins in 2002,” placing it six years before the events that occur in Breaking Bad.
Who blew up Hector?
Gus and Tyrus are initially confused, but Gus then realizes the bell is connected to the bomb that has been fitted under Hector’s wheelchair. The explosion instantly kills Hector and Tyrus. Gus steps out of the room, straightens his tie, and appears to have survived the blast.
What did Hector Salamanca do to Mike?

That means the series should presumably show how Hector ends up partially paralyzed. Although Breaking Bad insinuated it was a stroke, the circumstances surrounding his future state of health are mysterious and could be potentially tied to an altercation involving Gus or Mike.
What happened to Gus in ‘Breaking Bad’?
To Walt, Gus was almost like a monster he couldn’t get rid of, and even on the brink of death Gus remained unfazed, which made the situation even creepier. This could be attributed to Breaking Bad showrunner Vince Gilligan prioritizing art over realism, but it made for one unforgettable scene that will go down in Breaking Bad history.
Why doesn’t Hector ever look Gus in the eye?
Wether Gus is the reason Hector’s in the wheelchair or not doesn’t really matter, even if Hector did just have a stroke, he’d always hated Gus and he would even more so because Gus now comes to pretty much torture him at the nursing home. Hector won’t look Gus in the eye because he has no respect for him and hates him.
Will Gus be forced to carry out Hector’s plan?
While it seems that Gus may be forced to carry out Hector’s plan, Hector’s failings were orchestrated by Gus in the first place since Mike set up Hector’s drivers to be caught by the border patrol. So despite his protests, Gus is most likely luring Hector into an elaborate trap since he has been seeking to avenge Max’s murder for decades.
