Whats the difference between ZBrush and ZBrushCore?

Can I install 2 versions of ZBrush?

If you have different versions of ZBrush 4 and above installed they can be used together with GoZ as the main components remain the same, but it’s not possible to work on the same project between multiple versions of ZBrush at the same time.

Can you upgrade ZBrushCore to ZBrush?

A ZBrushCore perpetual license can Move Up to the full ZBrush at any time. Subscription, volume and floating licenses are not eligible. All upgraded licenses will be commercial licenses; it will not be possible to Move Up from ZBrushCore to an academic ZBrush license. To upgrade, please log in to the My Licenses page.

Is it worth buying ZBrush?

Zbrush is a fantastic piece of software but at a cost. For the full version of Zbrush you are looking at about $900 USD just to purchase. It is no wonder the prospect of a less feature rich version being available for a quarter of the price is enticing.

Which is better ZBrush or Mudbox?

Mudbox is way more efficient and accurate when it comes to texture painting. Indeed, it has a layer-based texture painting workflow, easier to use and much more convenient than the process actually available through ZBrush. Each map is assigned to a material, and they can have multiple layers.

Is ZBrush core good?

Unfortunately Zbrush Core does not have ZRemesher. This is a great automatic retopology tool that Zbrush has created. It does a reasonable job at retopologizing your model, one of the best I’ve used. This tool is not essential however it is a very useful.

How hard is it to learn ZBrush?

Yes. Zbrush is great for beginners. Despite the initial hurdle of the difficult user interface, the fact you can sculpt and create models with little to no knowledge of topology makes it a great program to learn with.

How many computers can I use ZBrush on?

Note: Single-User licenses allow two concurrent activations, provided that you never actually run both copies at the same time. If you want to have ZBrush on a second computer, you do not need to first deactivate it from the original machine.

Can I delete ZBrush installer?

On Windows, use the Windows Control Panel uninstall utility and follow the steps. On Mac OS X, simply move the ZBrush folder and the Users/Public/Pixologic folder to the Trash. Check the location where ZBrush was installed for extra files which haven’t been deleted by the installer.

Can I use ZModeler with ZBrush core?

Zbrush Core does not have ZModeler. Zmodeler is a traditional type of box modelling tool within Zbrush with some extra functionality. If you are into hard surface modelling this is a big loss. Many people do not use ZModeler in Zbrush and instead do their box modelling tasks in other programs such as Blender and import it.
