What happens to extra copies MTG Arena?
Since you can’t sell or trade your extra cards as you would in paper Magic, any extra copies are useless on MTG Arena. This is where duplicate protection comes into play.
How does MTG Arena handle duplicates?
Here is how it works If you already own a playset (four copies) of a card that is fully reprinted, you will only receive further copies of that card from store boosters if you already own playsets of all other rares and mythic rares from that set (i.e. the same thing we do with a card if it’s banned in Standard).
Is MTG Arena pay to win 2020?
By this definition, the answer is No. Magic Arena is no more pay to win than paper magic is. The Mono-Red player can still win games against the Sutlai Control player, and the same goes for Arena.
Is the vault still in MTG Arena?
(screenshot from closed beta) Currently the Vault progress can not be viewed in-game (October 2020). The Vault only becomes visible when it can be opened (1000/1000 points). Players can check their progress by looking at the game’s log file: Go to the game options (icon top right shaped like a gear).
What happens to banned cards on arena?
Banned cards can still be crafted after a ban, but are only playable in the permitted formats. Players are compensated with Wildcards after a ban.
Can you get more than 4 of a card in MTG Arena?
If you open a card you don’t have four copies of, you get the card. If you open the fifth copy of a card, one of two things will happen: If it’s a rare or mythic rare card, it’ll be replaced by another random rare or mythic rare card from the same set.
Is Magic Arena f2p friendly?
Again, this isn’t to say that it’s impossible to play Magic Arena as it’s advertised to us as a “Free to Play” game. It is, however, a comparably inhospitable game for free to play players if you want to do anything other than jam a fun brawl deck and occasionally draft as a treat.

How do you get a wild card?
Wildcards can be obtained in booster packs, and are available in all rarities: common, uncommon, rare, and mythic rare. As you acquire commons and uncommons of which you already own 4 copies, you earn progress to fill your Vault. Once you fill your Vault, you also get wildcards – 3 uncommon, 2 rare, and 1 mythic.
