Is computer science eligible for IES?
Any graduate engineer can apply for (ESE) Engineering Service Examination. IES includes only above 4 Engineering branches. Lakhs of Computer science engineering graduates passing out every year have to study many electronics subject in order to qualify this exam.
Can information technology students apply for IES?
The answer is Yes. Indian Engineering Services examination are conducted by UPSC for recruitment of candidates in government services in field of engineering like Electrical,Civil,Mechanical and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.
Can computer science engineer give UPSC exam?
Yes. A candidate who have completed Computer Science Engineering is eligible to sit for both IAS and IES Exams. Both the exams are being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) once in a year.
Can a Btech student give IES exam?
Yes, Any Engg. Graduate ( Passout / Final year Appearing ) is eligible to appear for IES examination. You however need to produce the required documents of the qualifying exam as and when asked by the UPSC commission before the final selection.
