What technology is being used in correctional facilities to scan for contraband?
Millimeter Wave—Millimeter wave technology uses electromagnetic waves to detect objects beneath clothing. The waves pass through the clothing and bounce off the skin before returning to the source. Like backscatter X-ray systems, millimeter wave technology cannot identify contraband hidden in body cavities.
Do prisoners have access to technology?

Can prisoners have pets?
Although prisoners are not allowed to keep pets, in the past some long-term inmates at a small number of facilities, were allowed to have a bird in their cell. New birds cannot be purchased any more by inmates, but any prisoner with a bird is allowed to keep it “until it dies”.
