What is the point of John 21?
John 21 is the twenty-first and final chapter of the Gospel of John in the New Testament of the Christian Bible. It contains an account of a post-crucifixion appearance in Galilee, which the text describes as the third time Jesus had appeared to his disciples.
Do you love me more than these?
In John 21:15 Jesus asks Peter, “Do you love me more than these?” Who or what are “these”? The resurrected Jesus has appeared on the beach near where Peter and others of his chosen disciples are fishing. Jesus calls them to a breakfast he has prepared.
What if I want him to remain until I come?
Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.”

What did Jesus mean when he said lovest thou me more than these?
Do you wonder what Jesus was referring to when He asked Peter, “Lovest thou me more than these?” Relating this question to ourselves in our day, the Lord may be asking us about how busy we are and about the many positive and negative influences competing for our attention and our time.
Does Peter betray Jesus?
Peter did not betray Jesus. Peter merely denied that He knew Jesus three times – Luke 22: 61 And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the saying of the Lord, how he had said to him, “Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.” 62 And he went out and wept bitterly.
