Is there any age limit for Physics Olympiad?
The examination is intended for students in 9th,10th and primarily, the 11th and 12th standard. Students who have passed Class 12 are not eligible to enrol for NSEP. Besides, they must satisfy the age criteria for IPhO (Less than 20 years of age on June 30th of the year of the respective IPhO).
What happens in International Physics Olympiad?
Olympiad. The main aim of IPhO is to test the highest level of knowledge, critical thinking, problem solving, right practices of presentation and analysis, and hands-on skills in theoretical and experimental physics.
How can I give International Physics Olympiad?
The physics Olympiad program follows the following 5 stages:
- Stage I : National Standard Examination in Physics (NSEP)
- Stage II : Indian National Physics Olympiad (INPhO)
- Stage III : Orientation cum Selection Camp (OCSC) in physics.
- Stage IV : Pre-departure Training Camp (PDT) for IPhO.
Who can give International Physics Olympiad?
Eligibility : All Indian students who are born on or after July 1, 2000 and, in addition, are in Class XII or lower as of November 30, 2019 are eligible to appear for NSEP 2019. A student may appear for more than one subject provided the examination schedule allows it.

What is the International Physics Olympiad?
The competition is called the International Physics Olympiad and is a competition between individuals. The competition is organized by the Ministry of Education, the Physical Society or another appropriate institution of one of the participating countries on whose territory the competition is to be conducted.
Why do we have a physics competition?
In recognition of the growing significance of physics in all fields of science and technology, and in the general education of young people, and with the aim of enhancing the development of international contacts in the field of school education in physics, an annual physics competition has been organized for secondary school students.
How should the Secretariat of the IPhO be invited to the Olympics?
The members of the Secretariat of the IPhO should be invited to the Olympiads as the members and heads of the International Board; their relevant expenses should be paid by the organizers of the competition. The members of the Secretariat should not be leaders of any national team.
How do the organizers of the Olympiad decide the date of arrival?
The Organizers of the Olympiad determine in accordance to the program the day of arrival and the day of departure as well as the place in their country from which the delegations are supposed to arrive and depart.
