No attendance policy – This is a standing rule at BITS. Students have no compulsion to go to classes, with the exception of a few compulsory labs. The college firmly believes that students should be free to pursue knowledge independently of what is taught in the classroom.

BITS Pilani is fully residential and hostel accommodation is provided to all students. The Institute has eleven hostels for boys and one hostel complex for the girl students. Is it mandatory to have a hostel at NIT Pilani?
Yes ,it is mandatory. If your concern is cleanliness and security, you have no reason to worry.The hostels are good and better than many campuses. There ar two dining halls, one near the Girls’ hostels and one near the Boys’ hostels. The food is also good. Yes, unlike Pilani Campus we don’t have Day scholars.
Is there anything to do in BITS Pilani campus?
There are some restaurants. Yes, drinkings are also a part of Bits Pilani. There is a small bar outside the campus named sarla which every drink u want..Even smoking & marijuana can be found here.But drugs are not much famous. Recently, I found that Raj. (especially Pushkar) is famous for drugs.
How to become a day scholar in Pilani University?
Permission to become day-scholar may be granted only under exceptional circumstances where student’s parents or close relatives are residents of Pilani. It is mandatory for the students staying in the hostel to have their food in the Hostel Messes. The messes attached to hostels are fully managed by the students. A large number of scholarships, fellowships and other financial assistance are available to the students of the institute.
