How many PC ships are there?
Of the 13 ships, two operate out of the Naval Amphibious Base, Little Creek, Va., three operate out of Mayport, FL., and eight are forward deployed to Manama, Bahrain. These ships provide the U.S. Navy with a fast, reliable platform that can respond to emergent requirements in a shallow water environment.

The U.S. Navy has exactly 25 patrol boats that are small enough to sail in the shallowest stretches of the Persian Gulf where Iranian forces lurk. All of these vessels—13 Cyclone-class coastal-patrol boats and a dozen smaller Mk. VI patrol boats—are on their way out of the fleet.

How many patrol boats does the US Coast Guard have?
Island Class Cutter (WPB): There are currently 41 110-foot patrol boats in active duty service in the U.S. Coast Guard. Eight additional 110-foot patrol boats were extended to 123 feet (37 m) but structural issues developed shortly after these conversions and the cutters were deemed unsafe to operate.
The Asheville-class gunboats were a class of small warships built for the United States Navy in response to the Cuban Missile Crisis. The last two Asheville-class gunboats in US service were USS Chehalis and USS Grand Rapids, which were operated by the Naval Surface Warfare Center until they were stricken in 2016.
