Can diploma holder apply for Amie?
A recognized 3-year Polytechnic Diploma or its equivalent in any branch of engineering. Any educational qualifications equivalent to the above, are also eligible to apply for AMIE. Those who pursue AMIE after their Diploma course are usually known as Diploma Stream Students (Senior Technician members).

How many times can I appear for the IEI exam?
A maximum of 6 years are given by IEI for passing Section A and again another 6 years for passing Section B. Exams are conducted in June and December every year. You can appear in maximum four subjects in one exam. If you are unable to pass respectice sections in stipulated time, then you have to apply for re-registration.
What is the qualification required to become an IEI member?
Corporate Members of IEI (FIE / MIE / AMIE) in any discipline provided he/she has not completed section B examination of IEI or Graduate degree in Engineering in the same discipline earlier. Six years from the Registration of Section B Examination.
Are IEI books sufficient for the Amie?
Students prepring for AMIE blindly beleive that the books prepared and issued by the IEI is all-sufficient for scoring pass mark in the examination. The truth is – the IEI books can be useful only to get an outline of the syllabus. This is not worthy to be used as a text book.
