Where do most sailors get stationed?
The vast majority of Navy deployments are at sea on Naval ships and submarines, though there are many deployments since 9-11 that allow for Navy personnel to deploy to various ports and bases around the world and in combat zones filling joint military billets.
DUTY STATIONS SEALs are usually assigned to homeports at Naval Base Coronado, CA and Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek/Fort Story, VA. Additional locations oversea are also available. SWCC are assigned to Naval Base Coronado, CA and Little Creek/Fort Story, VA as well as Stennis, MS.
Can enlisted sailors become SEALs?
This is the route that will give you the best chance of attending SEAL training; there are 10 times more enlisted SEALs than there are officers who attend SEAL training. Many candidates attend BUD/S with college degrees as enlisted, with the hopes of going to Officer Candidate School (OCS) later in their career.
Do you get to pick your base in the Navy?
If you graduate at the top of your A School you can be offered first pick in choices for first duty station. You made it through boot camp, various training courses, and graduated from your MOS school. Afterward, where you end up stationed after all the subsequent training depends on the needs of the Navy.
Deployments are almost never 4 years. SEALs typically operate on 18-month cycles, with 6 months deployed. However, some specialties and units (like DEVGRU) have their own op schedules which might include more frequent deployments for shorter periods of time.

The SEAL Teams and High Profile Missions SEAL Teams 2,4,8,10, reserve Team 18, and DEVGRU are in Virginia Beach, VA. SDV 1 is in Pearl Harbor, HI, and SDV 2 is in Virginia Beach, VA.
