What is GST rate on handloom products?
Since Independence, handlooms have not been taxed. Under GST, cotton fibre, yarn and fabric, which were not taxed earlier, are now taxed at 5 per cent. Synthetic fibre yarn is taxed at 18 per cent. For fabrics from handmade yarn it is 12 per cent for the yarn and 5 per cent for the prepared fabric.
