Many guys don’t wear them due to comfortability or temperature or any number of reasons but I preferred to wear mine because I like the idea of having an extra layer of protection. The yellow area is also made from kevlar and serves the same purpose as groin protectors of keeping the inner thighs safe but also the genitalia of the servicemember.
