Do recommendation letters have to be from teachers?
It is important because most colleges and universities that require letters of recommendation from teachers ask that the letters be from teachers who have taught the student in the final 2 years of high school (junior/senior year). Do not assume that the teacher knows everything about the student.
Can you ask for a letter of recommendation from a professor you don’t know?
Yes. How do I get a letter of recommendation from professors I don’t know personally? If you are known to the instructor, it should simply include asking. Plan to see the teacher, and give a copy of your resume (and possibly a copy of your record).

How do I renew my Mitacs elevate application?
The Mitacs Elevate program is a two-year program. In order to receive funds in the second year, fellows must renew their application by providing proof of continued financial support from their partner, proof of participation in training in the first year, and a research report before the end of the first year.
