Our Olympic sports Taekwondo program has sparring and also Poomsae parts to it. It is the official Olympic style Taekwondo tournament training program and competition Patterns or Poomsae training. These all cost extra to be involved in and require a serious commitment.
Does anyone in TKD know what poomsae is?
Karate still has a long way to go to explain itself to the general public – and the IOC – about what kata is. However, many in TKD have no idea what poomsae is and what its purpose is; if Karate plays its cards right, those in TKD will get schooled in that concept.
