What is the International Informatics Olympiad?
The IOI is one of five international science olympiads. The primary goal of the IOI is to stimulate interest in informatics (computing science) and information technology. Another important goal is to bring together exceptionally talented pupils from various countries and to have them share scientific and cultural experiences.
What does the IOI do?
The IOI publishes a journal every year, with original high-quality scientific papers related to education, contests and algorithms. Several International Olympiads in Informatics have been organized so far, hosted by a number of different countries.

How can I join the International Organization of international programmers (IOI)?
You should ask someone from this organization to contact the Secretary of IOI for more information about the procedure for new countries to join IOI. To win a medal at the IOI, you need to know how to program in one of the allowed programming languages, to be able to understand and implement algorithms, and to be a good problem solver.
What is the Zonal Computing Olympiad?
It is an offline written test in which you are not required to write code in a programming language. However, there also is an online variant of it known as the Zonal Computing Olympiad (ZCO), which is an online programming contest.
What if my country is not a member of the IOI?
If your country is not listed on the Members page of the IOI, you need to approach an organization that is capable of initiating such an activity in your country. For instance, it could be an organization that already conducts Olympiads in other subjects such as Mathematics or Physics.
