Is it bad if wires touch the motherboard?
As long as it’s got a plastic shroud over the connector (ie no exposed metal connector or bare wire) it won’t do any harm.
Is it safe to route cables behind motherboard?
It’s perfectly safe, just make sure you don’t bend the motherboard with a bulge of cables.
Can cables touch heatsink?
Touching isn’t necessarily a problem, but not ideal at all! It would only be a “problem” if the heatsync got really hot and melted the wire insulation. Best to pick up a 24 pin extension cable and route it around the heat and avoid potential grounding or a short.
Can radiator melt wires?
It’s incredibly important to keep wiring from making contact with radiators as the high temperatures could eventually melt the outer casing of the wire. Some lampshades are made of paper so it’s always advisable to keep them at a safe distance from the heat of a radiator.
Can a wire touch a radiator?
Lamps. It’s best to keep lamps at a distance from radiators to avoid them from getting too hot. It’s incredibly important to keep wiring from making contact with radiators as the high temperatures could eventually melt the outer casing of the wire.
Is it OK to have wires near a heater?
Electrical codes typically do not prohibit installing heaters below wall outlets, but most heater manufacturers recommend against it. The concern is that a cord plugged into the outlet will drape down onto the heater. This could melt the cord’s plastic insulation, creating a serious shock and fire hazard.

Is it OK for curtains to touch radiator?
A water or steam radiator doesn’t typically get hot enough to cause a fire. Your curtains would need to sit right on the radiator, and even then, the curtains may just burn. However, if you want to use curtains near a radiator, it’s not as risky when the radiator is an older one that uses steam or water.
Can you run extension cord behind radiator?
Don’t run extension cords under rugs, under furniture, or behind radiators or heaters. As electricity passes through the extension cord, it generates heat which needs to vent to prevent the cord from overheating. Covering a cord can create a fire hazard. An extension cord is meant to be a temporary power source.

Is it safe to run power cables through the motherboard?
I am Murloc! It’s perfectly safe, just make sure you don’t bend the motherboard with a bulge of cables. osu! Wires are non-conducting, so yeah, you should be perfectly fine.
Should the power cord touch the MOBO?
Behind the back plate yes, having it touching the mobo no. Should never have anything touching the mobo except the backplate due to PCB’s not exactly being the most durable of products. Last thing you want is to knock some soldering off when you tug out some cables when replacing hardware.
Can static electricity damage a computer’s components?
Simple answer is: yes, you can give out a static electricity discharge that can damage electrical components. It is good practice to always ground yourself before touching any components. In your case I would be surprised if you had caused any damage, I imagine the computer just got its knickers in a twist.
Is it bad to only touch the chip once while on?
Do some reading on static electricity, you can’t always see it. static = devil when working with the internal components of PCs. Although I would be suprised if you did serious damage to the chip by only touching it once while on. I have left my case off and worked with wiring and airflow situations before, and never had any problems.
