Does Toradol shot hurt?
Pain at the injection site, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, or upset stomach may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Where does Toradol get injected?
Toradol injections are usually recommended for initial pain relief and are injected into a muscle (IM). It can also be administered into a vein (IV).
How much do you inject Toradol?
For pain: Adults (patients 16 years of age and older)—15 or 30 mg, injected into a muscle or a vein four times a day, at least 6 hours apart. This amount of medicine may be contained in 1 mL or in one-half (0.5) mL of the injection, depending on the strength.
How long does an IM injection of Toradol last?
When given IM or IV, Toradol starts working quickly (about 30 minutes after administration). Its effects can last up to 6 hours, and its full impact is usually felt after about 1 to 2 hours. Toradol is often prescribed for acute migraines and post-surgery pain.
What is the difference between a Toradol shot and a cortisone shot?
In many patients they have gotten similar results to the cortisone injections and in some patients the toradol has given them longer relief then the cortisone did. Since it is a non steroidal vs cortisone which is a steroid, risk such as infection and increasing glucose levels are decreased.
Can you take Tylenol after a Toradol shot?
No interactions were found between Toradol and Tylenol. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist. Always consult your healthcare provider.
How much Toradol is too much?
Do not increase your dose, take it more frequently, or take it for longer than 5 days. If you still have pain after 5 days, talk with your doctor about other medications you may use. Do not take more than 40 milligrams in a 24-hour period.

Where do you give Toradol IM injections?
Toradol IM injection. I always give it in the gluteal or quad. I’ve seen many of my patients where the doc gave it in the deltoid. I think a larger muscle is kinder but any of the three sites should be fine. I agree–the larger the muscle the better. I also give Toradol in either the gluteus or the vastus lateralis.
How much Toradol should I give?
