Can you lose public IP of EC2?
Yes, you might loose a Public IP address if you stop the EC2 instance for more than 4 hours or sometimes even less than 4 hours. If you don’t want to have your EC2 IP address to be changed then you can associate ab Elastic IP address to your EC2 instance.
Does EC2 public IP changes after reboot?
5 Answers. Actually, When you stop/start your instance, the IP address will change. If you reboot the instance, it will keep the same IP addresses. Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to reassign the address to your instance as that address would have been released back into the pool used by other EC2 instances.
How does AWS retain public IP?
This is not possible. A public IP address is assigned to your instance from Amazon’s pool of public IP addresses, and is not associated with your AWS account. When a public IP address is disassociated from your instance, it is released back into the public IP address pool, and you cannot reuse it.
