Is Coast Guard is good or bad?

Is the Indian Coast Guard treated as an Indian military force?
It is neither treated as Indian Military (like Indian army, Indian navy and IAF) nor as para-military force. Since coast guard made a lot of efforts to come under the same umbrella as Indian military, their rules and regulations have become a mix of both. Uniform is same as that of Indian Navy. Training occurs with Indian Navy counterparts.

The Indian Armed Forces, consisting of the Indian Army, the Indian Air Force, the Indian Navy and the Indian Coast Guard are India’s shield and sword, which keep our interests safe, our enemies at bay and the people of our country secure and free. They are respected and adored for their valor and sense of duty by the entire country.
Coast guard is not a military service although it is under the defence ministry. Routine policing and anti-smuggling and patrols, and stochastic anti-pollution duties were too demanding for the expensive assets and highly trained and specialized naval personnel. Naval ships are prohibitively expensive and are very specialized.
What is the difference between the ICG and the Indian Navy?
MSP (Military Service Pay) is not their in ICG. ICG have NPS as pension system unlike Navy which have regular pension system. Indian naval ships have heavier and superior weapons systems (missiles, heavy guns, advanced radar system etc.) unlike ICG ships which only have light guns.
