Why did General Hux want Kylo Ren to lose?
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Ren lies to him and to Allegiant General Pryde that he is going to kill Rey, while he actually uses everyone in order to secretly save her himself. Hux however plots to kill Kylo Ren in favor for Emperor Palpatine so he could finally reach his throne instead of the dark knight.
Is General Hux force sensitive?
General Hux was born four years before the Battle of Endor, and he grew up in his father’s footsteps, now creating his own Army of programmed soldiers in the First Order. But secretly, Hux is Force sensitive. And he doesn’t tell anyone, as to avoid suspicion from Kylo Ren and Snoke.
Why is General Hux the spy?
Hux is later revealed to have been a spy supplying information to the Resistance in order to undermine Ren in the hopes of taking his place as Supreme Leader (or at least seeing Ren falling along with the First Order if necessary).

To show that he was not getting away that easy- he was still an evil maniac that just hated Kylo more than the Resistance as well as the fact that Finn still hated the FO.

Armitage Hux was put in charge of what would become the unofficial base for the First Order. He oversaw the mining for the planets kyber crystal deposits, and helped construct the base into becoming the ultimate weapon for the First Order.
