Starting this year, all Lenovo ThinkPad models will use universal chargers based around the USB-C connector and the USB Power Delivery 3.0 specification. Traditionally different notebooks used different chargers because of different power requirements.
Does it matter what laptop charger you use?
Yes, it matters, but not all the time. You can successfully use a compatible laptop power adapter of lower amperage than that of the stock adapter for your laptop. Max power draw for a laptop is at max.

There is contradicting information after CES 2021, but the Legion 5, 7 and 7 Slim with AMD Ryzen 5000 processors are supposed to have USB C charging up to 100W.

Why can’t I charge my gaming laptop with the USB-C port?
