How long does it take to hear back from HKU?
2 to 4 weeks
You will generally be given 2 to 4 weeks to respond to an offer of admissions to the University.
Is personal statement required for HKU?
You should upload a personal statement of no more than 1,000 words detailing your interest in applying to the University, the programme(s), etc. However, if you have indicated interest in our HKU-UCL Dual Degree Programme in Law, a separate personal statement is required.
How do I accept a HKU offer?

Answer: 4,000 characters is between 570 words and 1000 words with spaces included in the character count.
What is a firm offer HKU?
1.2 Offers from programmes can be conditional or firm. Under this system, “firm offer” means an offer without any further academic conditions attached.
How do you reject Uni offers?
Keep it short: You don’t owe the university or college an explanation; just politely and briefly decline the offer (see the template below for wording ideas). Thank them: You may want to thank the admissions committee for their time.
Do I need to make up advanced credits for HKU?
You are not required to make up these “advanced credits” during your course of study at HKU so this might enable you to shorten your overall study period. However, no further advanced standing will be granted after admission to the programme or the deadline stipulated by the Faculty. For enquiry and application, please contact your Faculty Office.
How can I get into HKU/HKUST?
You can get into HKU/HKUST if you have decent class X CGPA/ board score as well as a good percentage in class XI and class XII half yearly examinations. Extra curricular activities will also boost your chances. If you have given other exams like TOEFL, SAT, ACT, etc and have good scores in these exams, then they can help you too.
What do Hong Kong universities look for in an interview?
Hongkong universities mostly look at your academic grades and English proficiency test scores. Interviews are relatively much easier than Singapore Universities. It is not technical actually. The conditional offer requirements has increased from 85℅ to 90℅ this year, and 92℅ for competitive majors.
Do I need to brush up my English and Chinese at HKU?
Yes, you need to apply to your Faculty for exemption of Chinese and/or English language requirements if you are eligible for that. Please apply as soon as possible after you are admitted to HKU. I wish to brush up my English and Chinese. Are there any support units that I can approach?
