Wanda is so overcome with grief that magic just bursts right out of her and creates the Hex. She literally tries to escape into the American dream. Agatha says that she senses powerful magic coming from Wanda, and that’s why she enters the Hex.
How did Agatha get into Westview?
It turns out that Agatha is an ancient witch who was drawn to Westview because of Wanda’s massive power display in creating the place. Agatha takes Wanda through a journey of Wanda’s memories, trying to figure out where her powers came from.

Teleportation comes naturally to Wanda. Instead, she can teleport just by thinking or remembering the particular place. She can do it individually, or if she wishes, she can take a couple of others with her.

When Agatha and Wanda are going toe-to-toe, Agatha absorbs every magical blow Wanda hurls at her. The elder witch seems to absorb the power from each hit, taking a little bit of life and magic from Wanda with it. That likely gave way to her ability to steal magic from another witch.

If Agatha was looking for another magic-user to drain, then Wanda’s fall from grace and destroying the Wakandan embassy should have caught Agatha’s attention far sooner. The WandaVision season finale reveals that Agatha has access to the Darkhold, the book of ultimate sin made of dark matter from the Hell dimension.
How old is Agatha supposed to be?
For example, it revealed that Agatha is over three hundred years old. In fact, she may actually be immortal. However, what the show doesn’t explain is how this is possible.
