What is MUN in Pakistan?
Model United Nations Conference, or the MUN, is a multi-thousand rupees industry in Pakistan, which takes place across various classrooms all over the country.
How do you score in MUN?
Points will be awarded in the following four categories:
- Verbal Skills: Formal Debate and Moderated Caucus.
- Writing Skills: Amendments and Resolutions.
- Knowledge of Topics/ Policy.
- Parliamentary Procedure.
- Participation Skills.
What is Lumun?
The Lahore University of Management Sciences Model United Nations Society, more commonly referred to as LUMUN, was founded in 2002. Since its inception, LUMUN has been the pioneer in the arena of Model United Nations (MUN) in Pakistan. It hosted the first ever Model United Nations Conference in Pakistan in 2003.
What do you know about Mun?
Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. Once a team has registered for a conference, it receives a country to represent.
How do you yield your time in MUN?
Typically, the three types of yields are: 1) Yield to the Chair meaning you give up the rest of your time, 2) Yield to another delegate meaning you give up the rest of your time to another delegate, or 3) Yield to questions from other delegates or Yield to comments to your speech by other delegates.
What are the rules of procedure in Mun?
The two most commonly used rules of procedure are North American/ UNA-USA procedure and THIMUN procedure; most conferences’ rules of procedure are copied or modified from those two. A new procedure based on the actual proceedings of the United Nations has begun to grow, called UN4MUN procedure, and is taking root in MUN committees worldwide.
How do I find a MUN conference to attend?

The largest conferences are 4-day events at a hotel with 3,000+ delegates and more than 300 delegates in the same committee, but when you’re first starting out, we suggest finding a small 1-day or 2-day novice conference near you so it’s easier to learn how MUN works.

How do I get additional countries for my school?
