Does Kratos use Blades of Chaos in God of War 4?
God of War 4 gives Kratos a new weapon in the Asgardian Leviathan Axe but don’t worry longtime fans, he will get back and use the Blades of Chaos!
Is Blades of Chaos the same as Blades of Athena?
Also known as “Athena’s Blades”, those weapons were seemingly identical to the Blades of Chaos when Kratos first received them in God of War (not chronologically). They were given to Kratos by Athena after he killed the former God of War, Ares, those were Kratos’ main weapons during (and even after) his reign as a god.
What Blades does Kratos use in God of War 4?

Why did Kratos abandon the Blades of Chaos?
Kratos, at the peak of his task to kill the God of War, had the Blades of Chaos stripped away from him after he defended his family in one of Ares’s Illusions. With the Blades taken away from him, Ares manipulated the Blades to once more kill Kratos’ family, while a helpless Kratos watched in horror.
How did Kratos get Leviathan?
The Leviathan Axe was forged by the blacksmith dwarves Brok and Sindri, a pair of estranged siblings who felt regret after creating Thor’s hammer and seeing the devastation it caused. It was gifted to the frost giant Laufaye and later passed to her husband, Kratos, after her passing.
Why does Kratos have chain scars?
It was those very blades that are chained around his forearms, forcing him into a life-long service under the God of War, Ares. And after killing Ares, Kratos became the God of War. Even in godhood, it was those chains wrapped tight around his arms that gave him permanent scars — a reminder of his past.
