Will INS Vishal get approval from Mod next year?

Indian Navy is still pushing INS Vishal for approval by the Ministry of Defence (MoD). Recent updates suggest that P18 Destroyers and P-75A class will get approval next year. The expected cost is of ₹40,000 crores ( $5.5 Billion ) for the Carrier and another ₹40,000 for the air wing.

Initially, the carrier was expected to enter service by the 2020s, but the expected date of completion was later postponed to the 2030s. British newspaper Daily Mirror reported on 5 May 2019 that India was in talks with the United Kingdom to purchase the detailed plans for HMS Queen Elizabeth to use as the basis of INS Vishal ‘ s design.

On 3 December 2018, Chief of the Naval Staff Sunil Lanba told media that the work on Vishal had moved ahead and the construction of the ship is expected to begin in 3 years. Initially, the carrier was expected to enter service by the 2020s, but the expected date of completion was later postponed to the 2030s.
