What makes IIM students different?
A recent stress on academic diversity has brought in a set of wonderfully different views that make the learning process even more interesting. And there aren’t only academically strong students, they excel at sports, dance, music, dramatics, literary activities and so many other spheres of student life.
What kind of work experience is required for MBA in IIM?
If you have work experience between 2 to 3 years in supervisory cadre, you will be awarded weightage by IIMs in admission. Please remember no IIM gives any weightage to the work experience of less than 6 months. Work experience beyond 4 years onwards also has very less or no weightage and is not much preferred by IIMs.

How many students are shortlisted in IIM-A?
The top 100 students or 1\% of applicants (whichever is fewer) are shortlisted based on their Composite Score – (Academic Rating).30 + Normalised CAT Score).70 The IIM-A process thus ensures that the best commerce student or doctor or lawyer compete with the best engineer.
Do IIM colleges give weightage to X and XII marks?
As you can see from the table above, almost all colleges barring IIM-L, which gives no weightage to X marks, give weightage to X and XII marks. Each IIM has different marks at different slabs. For example, IIM-A has the following slabs for X: All colleges barring IIM-C and K start at slabs of 90 and above.
What is the percentage of 6 pointer candidates in IIM Calcutta 2019?
As per an answer by Rutwik Annadanam, around 15\% of IIM Calcutta’s Batch of 2019 had a 6 pointer or lesser in their candidature. That clearly reflects that your academics can be compensated by other things like your CAT score.
How is the gender diversity at IIM-B?
Unlike IIM-A , IIM-B gives weightage both to work experience and to Gender Diversity. The marks for work experience = 5* (number of months of work experience)/36. Gender diversity plays a role only in the first call .
